Another image I’ve just uploaded for voting on the JPG Magazine website.

It was taken recently for my On The Street set (all images viewable here). It’s been submitted for the Economics theme:

“Lets explore the economics of families, countries, or groups through a collection of our photographs.

Show us images of the wealth or poverty in your community, or what is looks like to be middle class. Capture the impact of the current financial crisis. The local library in disrepair or the Cadillac dealer going out of business. This is your social commentary!”

I think the fact the box needs a double lock to evade any thieves says a lot… what do you think?

You can now vote for my picture in the “Great Outdoor” category:

“Mountains, streams, cliffs, and canyons. We know that after a summer full of weekend getaways and cross-continental excursions you are chock-full of photos that reflect some of the most gorgeous terrain our planet has to offer. Show us what you love most about the great outdoors.”

I took this particular picture on my trip to Newquay back in August.  This plant was growing on the cliff fronts facing the Atlantic Ocean.

Ah hello! It’s been a while since I’ve been able to get my hands onto editing my photography and getting out to take some new snaps so, apologies!

As it’s the Christmas holidays I’m fortunate to have a week available to get re-acquainted with my camera – HOORAH! I decided to stay local and have been wandering around the Regent’s Canal and Shoreditch, checking out the um… “artwork”.  Anyway, after some gentle editing I’ve just uploaded the first 20 of these to my facebook page – please become a fan!

Comments are always appreciated!

As you may or may not know, I spend my day working for Three Blind Mice and jelly London as their office manager/online marketing guru.  At the end of October, I brought my camera into the office and kept a picture-diary of our times (see blog here)

You can see all the images on the jelly london flickr page.

Hello, Happy Sunday!

I’ve just changed the layout of my wordpress page to optimize image viewability and realised that I have a plethora of broken links.  So firstly, apologies if you cannot view any sets of images at the moment, I’m currently in the process of fixing this!

I took the decision to delete my flickr page for a few reasons; mainly because of the safety of my high-res images.  Generally speaking, the internet is not a safe place to house any artwork because it’s so easy to… “borrow”.  Granted that! You hope that people use your work and say it’s by you – helping to increase exposure!

My problem with flickr was that it allowed anyone to access my high-res versions, no questions asked.  I’ve used deviantART since the beginning of my photographic career and respect that they give you the options of which sizes anyone can have access to – plus they work directly with the Creative Commons charity!

In the future, my high-res images will still be housed on my deviantART account and sets of images will be on my facebook fan page.

My website is currently in the process of being put together so, I’ll keep you updated when this is set up!

Last Sunday I spent a few hours at a flat in Limehouse, East London on the film set for The Famous Class‘s music video for their latest single Emily.

Last week I strolled on down to New Oxford Street to see my friends Leah, Rich and Amber perform at The Fly.  I’d photographed their band, My Last Mistake, a few years ago at the Barfly and since had been meaning to do a follow-up show!

Downstairs at the Fly is incredibly dark… small… and made photographing sans flash a little bit of a nightmare.  I thought all was at a loss until I uploaded these onto my computer.

6 of my best are currently on display on deviantART and the majority of the snaps can be found on my facebook page here.

Buenos Dias!

This year’s November 1st was spent at the British Museum, armed with camera.  The Museum was holding a Day of the Dead exhibition to celebrate the Spanish/Mexican tradition in true style…

There was a huge turn out to see the dancing and displays; including its very own funeral procession throughout the venue.

Something a little different…

I spent a little time layering this piece to make the teddy’s colours stand out more vibrantly. It was such a gorgeous bear and I wish I could have been squeezing it as tightly as its owner was!

I’ve entered this for jpgmag.com’s theme: Nostalgia with the quote: “When a stuffed bear was your bestest friend… and went on adventures you could only dream about. It seems like such an age ago…!”

How the application of a little hairspray and make up can transform Zoe...

How the application of a little hairspray and make up can transform Zoe...

Hello!

This image is another one taken from my huge batch of Carnival snaps.
Zoe accompanied me for the day so, had to feel the the watchful lens of my camera. Luckily for her, I caught some fantastic moments of her on camera! This particular moment was when we just arrived in Notting Hill Gate and realised that everyone has sporting bright colours and glittery make-up. So, we found the first street corner, whipped out whatever we could find in our bags and transformed ourselves into Carnival Queens… well, not quite, but almost!

The latest theme on JPG Magazine is Transformation: “If there’s one rule of life, it’s that everything changes. Post your photo of something going through a change.” and I thought this was appropriate. Just a shame I couldn’t do a before and after pose…

Anyway, please click on the image and vote for me!
